HEALTHY ROUTINES AND PRODUCTS I’VE BEEN ENJOYING: JUNE 2023
Every other day I get inspired to try a new healthy product or routine to integrate into my life. I get so excited but am brought back to Earth when thinking about implementing all these new habits at once may make me completely overwhelmed.
So here are some little things I’ve done to improve my day-to-day life.
I hope you have a good sense of smell…
Trader Joe's always has a massive selection when it comes to flowers. But what I’ve been eyeing is the $4 eucalyptus bundle. (We’re going to pretend it didn’t just take me 4 tries to spell eucalyptus). I will grab one while I walk into the store and then put it in my shower. It makes my bathroom smell amazing and leveled up my showers.
Piggybacking off the previous habit- I ordered essential oils to put in a diffuser or sprinkle on my pillow. A little goes a long way, but I find that it really helps put me in a mood to get ready to wind down.
Alright, this one does not involve money but sitting and listening to my breath whether I’m at a stop light, taking a break from eating, not trying to be on my phone, anything. This really helps me reorient myself to the present moment and just do a body scan of how I’m feeling.
Stretching… I have always slept on. My boyfriend literally ingrained this in my brain. I don’t know if it is my sexy arthritis or the meditation aspect, but stretching while waking up or going to bed, or even in the middle of the day is relaxing, reorienting, and overall good for my mobility!
Dry brushing also goes hand in hand with the last one. I could do a whole post on lymphatic drainage honestly. I do this in the mornings to help warm my body up. I will then follow it with a cold shower (this could be number 6).
Honorable mention is getting time outside as much as I can even if it is just to sit out and read for a few minutes. I am convinced that the sun has healing properties for real.
